Mammoth bone is a very old material and should be cared for. I highly suggest that you do not wear this hook in water.

MAMMOTH BONE CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Handle your mammoth bone pendant with care. Avoid dropping, banging, or otherwise subjecting your pendant to rough treatment.
  2. Clean your pendant gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or polishes as these may damage the bone.
  3. Store your pendant in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.
  4. If the pendant is exposed to water, dry it off immediately with a soft cloth.
  5. Periodically inspect your pendant for signs of wear and tear. If you notice any damage, there is nothing that can be done as mammoth bone is a natural fossil material and can not be repaired.

Disclaimer: Mammoth bone is over 10,000 years old and a fossil. Exposure to water can damage the hook causing it to become weak and crack. This is a specialty item and is recommended to wear on special occasions, not for every day use.
