Ho`oku`i in Hawaiian means, “to join together”. In this piece, I carved the body from two tone curly koa wood from the big island and set it with a nice piece of mammoth ivory in the shape of a boomerang. The reason I thought of a boomerang is because they always come back after you fly them through the air. Sometimes we have loved ones that we need to let go so they can fly and in letting them fly away they will be happy and want to return wiser, stronger, and with a joy that can only be found when set free.
*Chord is adjustable and can fit over all head shapes and sizes.
